Welcome to the forums! All of the Grant tanks used in WW2 by American forces had the good old OD #9 scheme applied to them. So if you used Tamiya Olive Drab you should be ok. I personally would recommend applying it via airbrush since it’s a mono scheme, very simple to lay it down nice and even.
I recently used the ModelMaster enamel color middlestone on an Italeri Grant kit, which was a color call out in their instructions. I couldn’t find an equivalent for either Tamiya or MM acrylics though. The Model Master # is 2052 and the FS# is 30266. I hand brushed it (it was a 1/72 kit by the way), but now have an AB and would definately use that instead. Hope this helps. Pete
Hmmm good question tanker3. I know the difference between them was primarily the design/equipment for the commander’s cupola and the Grant was changed to Brit specs, but not sure if any US units were equipped with them. If they had been, they would have been OD green. Grants used by the Brits on the other hand would have had various schemes in N. Africa depending on timeframe.
i would try to be as specific as possible if i were you, that way you will get the most out of any one enquiry.
personally i am waiting for someonbe to do a new Grant (don’t think Tm’s old one is up to much) and would love to do it in Operation Supercharge colours, but i haven’t had the chance to do the research yet.
hope all goes well, and let us know what you find out.
