I just finished Gekko Irving two weeks ago. Also is my first post. Painted with tamiya colours.

She’s a great lookin’ bird! I think the exhaust is my favorite detail that you did. How’d you do that? They look great. I really like all of the details that you put in to this build!!! Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

First i use putty (left and i hope you can see).

Painted with XF-64 Red Brown and XF-1 Matt Black (Tamiya colours). After weatthered with artist oil Burnt Sienna.

Very nice build. I have this one in my stash and I hope it comes out as nice as yours. The paint and weathering are very nice. If you have some other builds you should post them too. Keep up the excellent work!

Manny, I think Tamiya makes three different Irving models. The one I have has the drop tanks included. It is the Kou model, Tamiya model number 61093.

Tamiya makes three different Irving models:

61093 - Kou with three machine guns in top

61078 - late production

61084 - early production (is mine)

masonme2 - yes, i use a sponge.

Excellent Gekko! Like everyone said, the exhaust staining is top notch, thanks for sharing the tip about putty on the exhaust. I think I’ll try it with Mr. Surfacer 500. Welcome to the forum.
