G'day from Down Under

Hi to all fellow modellers,

have finally got round to finding this site and joining the forum. Now I hope to slowly build up a database of info and tips for when I make a start on the model collection.

Started in the hobby when I was a kid and then stopped for a number of years due to family, work & other interests. For the last 13-15yrs I’ve been slowly building up a collection of kits from various styles/makers etc for the time when I retire from work and have the spare time on my hands to work on them.

At present my spare time is divided (sometimes way too thinly) between fishing, 4WDing, shooting sports, archery, house renovations and horse riding with an Australian Light Horse troop. Oh almost forgot painting gaming miniatures.

The painting of figures has been the mainstay of my “modelling” interests for the last 15yrs or so. I’ve amassed a sizeable collection there too (made keen collector) and most of my painting over the last 2-3yrs has been commission for work a select clientele.

Most of the figures are in the 25-30mm scale, but I have done 1:100 and 54mm scale work. The next project I have planned is a couple of WWI Light Horse troopers as trophy presentation pieces for a couple of friends in the shooting sports.

Anyway, that’s enough of me, will thank all of you in advance now for the tips, info and advice given to the forums and/or me in the time to come. Cheers
