I just returned from the Gathering of Mustangs & Legends 2007, in Columbus, OH. I’ve posted some photos I took with my Canon Powershit A75 on full “Auto”. Not many in-air action shots, but there are a few. Lots of nice static shots, though…what a day! About 72 degrees, zero humidity, a nice breeze…PERFECT airshow weather, and Warbirds as far as the eye could see! Here’s a link to my Picassa gallery…Enjoy!
Back from Columbus tonight. Met up with Mucker. Nice person with some cute kids. We both agree it was one of teh better shows we’ve been to. It was a great, warm, sunny day. I didn’t know the Thunderbirds was going to be there. These are shots I took with a pocket camera. Don’t really like it for this kind of picture taking. The rest of my pictures are on film, so they won’t be ready for several days.
I will try to post my pics tonight, as well. It was great to put a face with the name and meet Wayne. What a great show! They estimated 150,000 on Sunday and around 125,000 people Saturday. The raw power in the air from the jet shows was awesome. And to be able to see some of the bombers in flight (B-25’s, B-17’s and a Lancaster) was the thrill of the day for me. The P-40’s had a great showing as well.
I was at the opposite end of the country, at the CAF’s 50th anniversary AirSho … and didn’t find out until midway through why there was only a single solitary P-51 at the show. But it was a great show regardless and the P-51 pilot really got the crowd going on Saturday with a little impromptu warmup routine prior to the festivities (but the grass in the medians already looked plenty short enough to me!)
I was there too… Of course I didnt know I’d be there til about 1am on Friday… I would have asked who else was gonna be there! My dad and Grandpa went with me. We left before the 51 Mustang formation, but got to see the “attack runs”. I was pretty happy with the show! There were soooo many people there!
Charles, what I do for mine is copy the album address and put it in the post, instead of my generic photobucket address. Then I do a preview to see if it will come up.
