G.w.h 1/48 f-16i sufa

This is new tooled from Great Wall Hobby, end of 2025 early 2026. This is a cracking kit, the engineering is excellent and the fit is fantastic. I’ve built the Kinetic SUFA and this one is a way better build experience by far. I pre-ordered it and received a 3D printed flight crew with it, so I did an in flight display. So not all kits will have the crew. I did build up the landing gear to see what it was like and the gear bays are more detailed than the Kinetic kit and the wheels in this one are one piece for the tyre and the hubs plug in. There are parts on the sprues for other variants so I am excited to see what Great Wall bring out next.

Wow, what a result! Separate to your stellar work on the model itself, your flying base display is phenomenal! The afterburner effect is a very nice touch, and softens the “stick up its bum” effect that makes many flying displays look a bit awkward. The wooden base is simple but elegant, with an excellent choice of stain to compliment the colour scheme of the model.

Was the mounting rod an off-the-shelf product, or did you have to target a particular diameter and then heat/bend it to the required shape? Is it glass or plastic?

It’s acrylic rod, it’s not the correct diameter soI had to modify the end to get it to fit the tail pipe. Once you go up in diameter in acrylic rod, there are a lot of gaps in diamters. So it’s hard to get the exact size required. I use a heat gun to bend acrylic rod.

Looks familiar, really nice job !
The “shock diamonds” are tough to replicate but, you did a nice job with it.
