How many coats of Future can or should be applied to a model? It is a wax so will it polish when rubbed with a cheeze cloth? Thus far I have painted, Future, sanded, painted, Future but I notice that the model does not look glossy but I do like the way that it looks. I will now decal then Future again.
I did see it on your site. I thought I would start a topic and to perhaps get a little bit more information on this because I had not used Future before. I did get me the big soft brush that you had recommended and I must report that it works very well.
My biggest problem is that no matter what color of white that I use no matter how many coats I put the dang model is still light grey. I am going the the light grey. Decals next up.
Which wasn’t a bad plan, but Matt keeps updating that article to include every new tip, trick and source for Future he comes across. It truly is The Complete Future!
Peewee- what you are missing is blue in the white. I use shaker cans of appliance white usually, and don’t airbrush white because it takes me too many coats. But I’ve got a couple of V-bombers on which I used testors Gloss white in the rattle can and no complaints.
Okay, I forgive you [:D][:-^] Bondoman beat me to the ‘add some blue’ tip but he’s right, a little tiny bit of cobalt blue or other solid blue will brighten white right up.
That only works when you use the washing machine technique to clean your model between coats of paint. It’s very effective, and can make one project last for years…
You know, it’s really irritating when someone mentions a tip you know you should have remembered, yourself. Creeping senility strikes again…[zzz]
And here I thought using one of those Clorox bleach pens was the greatest undiscovered tricks to getting my whites even whiter. Well I guess they get returned to where I stole them from…the wife’s laundry room. Just kidding![swg]
