There are a couple of ways to do this. You could either spray the part with windex (ammonia based window cleaner, not sure where you’re from of if you have it), or you can soak the part in future for about 24 hours. Either will remove the finish already on there.
If you use the windex method, make sure you wash the part thouroughly before re-applying the future.
Here, about half way down the page:
Use windex to remove the future. Anything with ammonia removes it but this has it in diluted enough amounts it will remove the future but not harm the plastic. A good idea after you put future on the canopy is cover it with a clean plastic cup to prevent dust and other things settling on it as it dries. good luck!
Jeremy,
Sorry to here of your problem with the hair. I might be mistaken, but I believe I’ve read that ammonia will strip the floor wax and not harm the plastic.
But… you better wait to hear from Swanny. He’s the future Guru around here.
Goodluck,
Jerry
For this problem soak the piece in Future overnight. Future will desolve itself and when you pull it out you can remove the hair and then let the part dry. Hair gone and part recoated all in one easy step.
Yes, the hair incident happened to me (stupid cat!). Although it was kinda obvious since my model space is under my bed and my cat likes to sleep at my feet. But i just got impatient and glued the windshield into my car! Atleast you make the effort to correct your mistakes!
thank, I will try the windex: I hope fix it because the caopny is from my best model so far, a tamiya gekko
tnx, bye
