While checking your website I got little bit confused, in one pharagraph you mention “If using the Tamiya Flat Base you may not want to use Windex for clean up as it can react with the Tamiya product and cause gumming in an airbrush” on the other hand you recommed flatten Future with Tamiya flat base.
If that would be the case what do you recommend for cleaning the airbrush after you had applied the flat coat Future + Tamiya flat base??
You are not the first to pick up on that. With most Tamiya paints ammonia reacts badly with them, especially in any quantity. When using Tamiya flat base, to clean your airbrush first flush with clean water to reduce the amount of paint in the brush then finish with Windex. Should any clogging occure your can blow a few drops of Lacquer thinner through the brush to clear them - clogging is rare. The precationary note is more a result of modelers trying to thin Tamiya paints with Windex. Windex is used to thin many acrylic paints but should not be used with Tamiya paints. Does that help?
