Future over Silver

Im having some trouble airbrushing Future over a Sliver finish. Im using Model Master Meatllic Silver and when I use future its very spotty. I cant describe it, its like orange peel but worse. The paint is clean, no oils or whatever. Ive tried adding a few drops of windex and tried another round using a drop or so of detergent. I thought it might be my airbrush but I tried giving an old Zero of mine a coat and it did not exhibit this problem.

Is it just me or can you even Future over silver? When I brush it on it works just fine though!

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can provide.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I have used Future over polished SNJ with no problem;however, the Futrure will lift off easily if any tape is put over it. I think it lookd pretty good although a little bright.

There could be two things that are causing this.

A) the silver paint could still be wet. I usually wait for about 4 days for the paint to really dry before I airbrush Future over silver.

B) the other thing could be that you need to increase your flow of Future. You may have too much air going through, so that the Future is partially dry already when it hits the model.

Hopefully something here helps.

Thanks for the advice. The paint is definately dry as I did that a while back. Ill try increasing the Future flow and see how that treats me.

Thanks again!
