G,day everybody, could someone please tell me if there is any problems using Future over Gunze acrylic? I am just about to do this but seem to remember reading somewhere about other modelers having some issues with the Future developing hairline cracks afterwards when used over this paint. Thanks guys.[?]
Give it a try on some test parts & see how it goes. Try it on a part after letting the Gunze dry only 24 hours. If it’s a crash & burn, try again after letting the Gunze cure for 4 days or a whole week. Gunze seems to use a variety of different concoctions or chemical mix ratios from color to color, flat to gloss and solids to metallics, so see what the Future reaction is by using the very colors you want to use.
I don’t ever recall having a problem with Future over Gunze or, for that matter, over any basecoat. I would suggest letting your Gunze basecoat dry for at least 48 hours before using Future. As suggested in the previous post, error on the side of caution by trying a test strip.
I’ve used Future over Gunze acrylics on loads of occasions, just make sure that you allow 48 hours drying time for the acrylics before applying the Future.
