Can someone also tell me what is the “Future” equivalent for Japan.
Tried the name given on Swanny’s Future article, but nobody seems to know about it over here.

I have been to 4 home-centers and spoken to a lot of Gaikokujin, so far nobody has seen or heard of it over here under the name given by swanny.

Can you verify with your source:
If this is the correct name under which it is sold over here(what is the japanese name equivalent).
If it is sold in than which shop carries it.
I am getting the sneaky suspicion that it might ONLY be available via a special import shops which are really few, overly expensive and poorly stocked.
Nope…Future, Wipe and Shine…No luck at all!
My modelling buds also know about Future and its mystical properties, but have never seen it or its ilk here.
I will soon head back to the Home-centre end of the month to order some furniture, and will check another lead that might be it.
“Wipe and shine” for cars made either by valvoline/eagle one, not sure if that is what swanny is refering to but it could be.
Check a Military base commisary - might actually find Future there.

Like the other guys on this thread I’m looking for Future here in Japan. Since I’m not military I can’t get onto bases so no luck on visiting military base commisary, bummer! I’ve checked the home-centers with no luck so I called S.C. Johnson here in Japan. The person did not know anything about a product called ‘Wipe and Shine’ and told me that a similar product Johnson sells in Japan was Pledge wax.
I went back to the store and bought some, unfortunately after I got home I found its definately not the same stuff due to its milky color (I’ve never actually used Future by the way so don’t know 100% but from the picture in my book its clear).
It was only 550 yen ($5) so I bought some and tried spraying it on some scrap parts that I painted in both Gunze acrylic and lacquer <sp?> paints to see what would happen. After it dries I’ll try coating over both with lacquer and see what happens. If that works then I’ll try applying another coat and some scrap decals to see the results. Honestly, I’d really wish I had access to the real thing!
If someone else out there has more info please let me know!

It’s been three years since this thread was started, and I still haven’t found any Future equivalent here in Japan! I finally just had a buddy in the States send me a bottle.
Isn’t Future supposedly changing its formula in the near future (no pun intended!)? If so, stock up now!
