Can you use future as a primer?[?]
NO NO and NO Sorry mate, but Future has a cmpletely opposite effect than primer. Future is smooth and primer is porus. Its porus so that it obsorbs the main coat of paint and holds on to it. Future is also clear were primer is usually grey so as to hide all the different colors from putty, plastic etc. and balances out the final color.
hope this helps Trevor M
I agree with Jeff. One observation, paint does adhere curiously well to a coat Future.
I use Future all the time as a primer for Alcad II paints. I only use their gloss black for the Polished Aluminum and Chrome shades. Future works better than anything else as a primer for their regular metallics.
You can use Future as a primer, it leaves a nice smooth surface.
And paint will adhere to it.
I suppose the trouble is that as it’s clear, you can’t see whether there are still any imperfections… maybe?
The reson that primer is called primer is becouse it is used to Prime the surface for a final coat of paint. Future is call floor wax becouse it is the last thing to go on and is smooth and shinney, If you were to pay $2000.00 for a paint job on your car would you want them to prep you car with primer or floor wax. Paint primer exist for a perpose.
In the past after aplying a final Matt coat over Future Ive for what ever reson had to mask an area off and when I peeled off the tape the Matt finish peeled right off becouse it had nother to adhear to.
The choise is yours my freind Im just trying to save you a whole lot of greef. Trevor M
