Future dry time

I know this has been covered, but I want to ask directly for my situation. I had applied Future to a model and let it set about 24 hours. I then used a water-thinned black wash and the water (I assume) seemed to attack the future. The finish began to turn white. The aircraft was a dark color so it was easy to see. What did I do wrong here? Should I have waited longer for the Future to dry?

Sounds like you need to give it another day to cure fully. Are you dealing with high humidity right now? Don’t worry about the white, usually it will go away with another application of Future. A military trick is to Future your footwear to avoid lengthy waxing and polishing but you can get busted if it’s wet outside because your boots will get milky looking.

Swanny is right, usually I wait 24 hours between coats of Future but I wait 48 hours before I start messing with it. Also you may have more luck using an oil wash over Future. Water will always react with Future, even fully dry Future; but usually if it is fully dry it takes a lot of water and a lot force or rubbing to get Future to lift.
