Is the F a brand new mold? Me thinks it is. Toss out your old Italeri kits.
PMMS doesn’t allow for direct linking of their photos (if you’ve visited the page the images are still in your temp folder and will “appear” in the Preview or post but aren’t actually visible to anyone else), here’s the link:

That F2 will be a nice kit I’m sure…it’ll be a “smart” kit and will likely mean I’ll end up ditching the older Imperial Series F2 that I have in the stash. [:O]
Well that stinks! Argh!
I thought Dragon might have had one, so might this be an updated kit of their older Imperial kit? I didn’t see if it was newly tooled. Should be a popular subject, especially for Afrika Korps modelers.
Thanks Bill.
I’m not sure about these so called ‘Smart Kits’!
Jus’ look at the Ausfklarungspanzer 38t. It contains a jig to create a ‘kink’ in the fenders as per the real thing, but then look at the channel attachment points for 'em!! They’re dead straight, so they won’t fit! It looks like Dragon have outsmarted themselves!!
Also, i’m not sure I like what I read on the boxes of these kits: ‘FOR YOUR MODELLING ENJOYMENT’. Sounds like a compromise to me!
Yeah, I was wondering if this might not be corrected, but haven’t heard anything more on it. Seems like an inexcusable error to me.
Even if they missed the mark with the 140/1, I appreciate the effort. The correction isn’t like detailing the old Alan kit. It’s OK with me
Many many kudos to DML and their engineers. They’re imperfect – just like me!
Fingers,
I haven’t built any of the “Smart Kit” series yet, but usually when that designation is assigned they are all-new tooling. It’s the “Premium” kits that are usually the revamped older kits that kit new parts, facelifts, etc.
There does seem to be some wide variance in just how “smart” some of the kits are, no doubts there, and some have more PE and other stuff included like the Marder III-H as a recent example. There’s no such thing as a perfect kit, but I’d have to echo Roy’s statement about the advancement from the Maquette offering on the Aufklarungspanzer to the new DML kit. If the kits were perfect then we’d just be assemblers, eh? [:D]
I agree, but this is a fundamental error! Have jig, will ‘kink’! To 'kink or not to ‘kink’, that is the question! [:D]
Hi all
there are all so
(6294) Aurklarungspanzer 38t

Indeed, one must ponder the consequences before commiting to the kink…
Wait… So both Dragon and Trumpeter are making a Dicker Max? Weird.
