Is it better to spray a good coat of Future on first before applying the decals or apply the decals before the Future…
Before and after is a good idea. Check out the decaling forum, there’s bound to be alotta discussions about this topic there…
Fade to Black…
I use the future before I put on the decals. This gives them a nice smooth surface to adhere to. Depending on the decal thickness, I then either use more future to seal the decals (if they are thick), or go straight to my final finish (gloss, semi-gloss, or flat). Experiment and see what works for you.

I use a little fresh Future on the spots where my decals will go. Applying decald onto still wet future helps in getting rid of the ‘silvering’ risk, and helps the decal stick better onto the model. On difficult surfaces, I also use a bit of MicroSol/Set with the Future.
I finish painting, apply 2 coats of finish, let dry overnite then apply decals. They go on smooth and fill in the panels where they are supposed to. Of course I apply decal set to the area getting the decal and then apply decal set over the decal once it is placed. I then wipe off excess and let it dry. It works great. Mush better than I use to do which was apply decals to the flat paint surface. Then, they look like decals.
Thanks for the Info, I’ll give it a shot…[:D]
