Future Curing time

How does the future need to cure before putting on a oil and mineral spirits wash?

Thanks, George

There are some variables to consider, like temperature, humidity, and how heavy a coat was applied, but about 24 hours has worked out well for me.

MIke’s right about the variables. He must have bigger cojones than I, since I never go less than 48 hours.

Bill, 48 hours works well for me in regards to decaling and is my standard for them since I tend to go a little heavy on the setting solutions and solvents, but my washes (mineral spirit/enamel mix) are applied in such miniscule amounts (I do mostly pin washes) that 24 hours of cure time has not presented any problems yet. Still, to be on the safe side, 48 hours as you stated is very likely a better way to go since we all have very different wash techniques. [:)]

George,

Hate to sound like a broken record, but 24 to 48 hrs

has work well for me.

Thad

I always wait at least 24 hours and often times wait 48 hours or more.
