Future automated cargo ship

Ship designers are planing for a future in which cargo vessels sail the oceans with a minimum, or even no crew members. Rolls-Royce is a pioneer in this no crew members on cargo ships. Advances in automation and ample bandwith that reach far out at sea could be the change that would allow more automation that will able optimize ship use and include better fuel consumption. One of the more ardent proponent of cargo ship automation is, Palle Laursen, CEO of A.P.Moeller-Maersk, the giant Danish shipping company.
