I’m about to begin putting the finishing touches on my F-22 Raptor. I just got done shooting a thin coat of Future onto the kit, and I’ll be decalling shortly.

My question is this: How do decal setting solutions (specifically Solvaset) react with the coat of Future? Will the Solvaset etch the Future? Or can I apply the Solvaset as liberally over the decal that’s on top of the coat of Future as I would over a non-Futured kit?
I’ve put a lot of time into this kit, and I don’t want to bugger it now. Thanks in advance for the information!
Future will occasionally (Rarely ) react to decal setting solutions. When this occurs you will see a cloudy white blotch on the model. DON’T PANIC. An overspray of Future, after 24 hours or so curing time, will eliminate the problem. I don’t know the technical reason for this, but I do know the fix works.
I’ve never had a problem with this. Make sure you give the Future at least 24 hours to dry. You really don’t need a lot of decal setting solution. I usually position my decals very carefully using a wet paint brush if I need to move them around and then blot them so the sit flat and there are no air bubbles traped. I then use a light coat of setting solution and let it work for 15 minutes or so. If the decal isn’t sitting down quite the way I would like I redo the setting solution until it does.
