fuselage question

When glueing together the fuselage halves, would it be ok to line up the two pieces and hold them in place with rubberbands, and then apply glue to the seems on the outer surface? It seems kind of difficult and messy to apply glue on the inside and then struggle to line up the fuselage halves.

That approach will work well with welding type adhesives such as Tenax 7, in fact it’s the preferred aproach, although I rarely use rubber bands. For other types of adhesives such as Testors liquid, tube glues, CA, etc., you would very likely ruin the model.

I try to get to the inside as much as possible, then go to the outside seams. You need to watch that you don’t get the glue near the rubberbands as the glue will follow them all the way around the fuselage. (Also, if applying liquid glue to the inside of the seams, it will promptly find a way to the outside of the model, usually on the side you can’t see and make a bee line to which ever finger you have on that side of the fuselage - leaves fingerprints that would make the CSI folks very happy)
