i just pucked up the kit, i was just wondering if anyone has input on it, and where can i get 1/16 detail parts for this? thanks, mark.
Did you pick that up at the show today? I saw a few of those huge kits and figured there was no way I would want to try it.
yep, i got it there. i managed to take 5$ off for a final price of 30$. it really doesnt seen that hard, the engine is just a kit in itself though [:p] . the ferrari 385 in front of the show influenced me to buy it. [:)] i figured i minus well go all out next year, i dont feel like getting beat by a 10 year old [;)].
Give this site a try. It has many great pics of Ferraris for help with detailing.
This link takes you right to a 288.

excellent pics, they will come in handy, thanks alot.
Go to www.scaledetails.com for a really nice 1/16 photoetch detail set. I picked one up and it has enough parts for my 288 GTO and the Italeri F40 along with many more left-overs!
One quick question, I am thinking of picking up a 1/16 scale kit to rip some parts out of it.
That is the diameter(size) of the wheels and tires?
If you can let me know in the metric system I would appreciate it, if not I will do my own conversion.
If the size works out it might safe me a few headaches.
thanks for the info guys, hey model museum ill measure those parts tonight
Thanks.
The measurements of the wheels and tires from the 1/16 Ferrari 288 GTO are as follows:
Front wheel - 25mm Dia. / 14mm Width
Rear Wheel - 25mm Dia. / 19mm Width
Front Tire - 39mm Dia. / 17mm Width
Rear Tire - 39mm Dia. / 22mm Width
Does this help?
dang it, you beat me too it [:(]
