Fujimi Alfa Brabham BT46 Fan Car.

HELP!.

Recently purchased the Fujimi Alfa Brabham BT46 Fan Car.

Going along nicely with the build until i came to the rear of the body work.

Or to be precise the right side as you look at her from the front of the car forward of the rear tyre.

Where i find that part 18 is missing.

Tried in vain to email the company…NO REPLY, joined two other forums which concern their thoughts on Formula 1, but because i got to have 5 replies, thought to myself damn it i’ll ask on Fine Scale Modeler forum.

Has anybody else come across this problem with the kit, and is there a way i can get this missing part of which is very important to the build.

If i could replicate this i would, but it is an awkward shape to do.

So i am asking you out there for help in solving this.

As i have over the last 40 years built quite a lot of model kits of all sorts, but now i focus directly on Formula One cars.

This is the first time a major kit manufacturer has done a muck up straight from the start of a kit that i have come across, others i can make contact with but fujimi i have come to a dead end with.

My fanatical passion is the Colin Chapman era of Team Lotus, i am at this moment building the Lotus 79 ( Black Beauty) as we the fans of Team Lotus and the team itself called her.

But back to the problem i have stated…can anyone help me in this quest.

Thanking you all

The Snake.

Try asking in the car section. You.might get a better response

What is the prefix letter of the part? There are several part #18s on sprues B, D, F, H and J.

To answer that question Real G the sprue is …H… that the part is missing

Please move this to the Auto forum section. Thanks.

Okay I checked the instructions and the part number H18 is on step 21. It is a filler piece for the triangular flare on the body. It looks easy enough to make from two pieces of sheet plastic with beveled edges. Use the opposite part H19 as a template. Hey at least it is not something hugely complex like a head cover or transmission case! Give it a try and good luck
