FSM Published 3-View Books

I have thought on occasion that FSM should compile their scale 3-view drawings from all past issues and publish them in a scratchbuilders special edition. Color drawings could be included as a useful reference. I have found these drawings invaluable and would welcome such a printing.[2c][swg]

That would be awesome dave???

is there any real chace of that happening???

That’s a question I can’t answer. Someone from the Editorial Staff would be better qualified to answer it.

Well are they reading this? LOL or would you please pass it up the food chain!

Oh, no. Are you suggesting Dave’s at the bottom of the “food chain”?

Now that you put it that way…[:I]

I’m going to pass it “over” to Lawrence. [;)]

I think that sounds better. [:)]

Seriously though, I forwarded a copy of the link to him. I can’t guarantee a personal response from him or anyone on the staff, but I know it will be seen and read.

David, Thank you for passing the post along. Your one of the good ones!

ROFL That’s not what I meant it to sound like, thanks for passing it on David!

ROFL, i think you ment it that way chris!!! LMFAO!!!

Thats my story and IM stickin to it!!![:-^]

Interesting idea…Books are actually produced by a totally separate department at Kalmbach; I’m not sure how much input we have into their choice of modeling book subjects. I’ll see if I can get more info about the process. Maybe somebody just needs to suggest it… [;)]

we have!!! now all we need is the firm backing of the associate editor of one of their mags. I wonder if that would be hard to get?[:-^]

Hey Lawrence, How did they like the book suggestion? I would be interested to know how they choose books to publish for our consumption. [:)]

Woody, thanks for the idea for the book. I talked to Candice St. Jacques, the Editor-in-Chief of Kalmbach Books, who asked me to convey her appreciation for the suggestion as well. I asked Candice about how books are developed and she shared this with me:

“We have three ways of developing new books. One is to re-work material from our magazines when it makes sense to put those words and images in book form. Another is to contract with someone affiliated with the company to assemble all the elements for a book idea that meets a need we’ve identified. The third way happens in response to someone outside the company putting together a full proposal. We have a limited number of books we can publish each season and many more ideas than we can afford to bring to print, so we’re always grateful when readers help us by telling us about the book ideas they want and need.”

Dave, thank you for forwarding my idea. Please thank Candice for taking the time to give us a glimpse into the book selection proccess. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping the idea becomes a reality.
