All,
Just got the latest FSM newsletter and there is a link to an OnlineExtra Gallery on Sci-fi/fantasy/TV/movie models with pics taken at several shows over the past few years. http://www.finescale.com/fsm/default.aspx?c=a&id=1567
Now, if we can just get them to put these into the Magazines…
And they said one man can’t make a difference. [8D]
It’s wonderful to see familiar names from the other boards like Tony’s and Jim James’ and Erin’s, they deserve the recognition.
I am so grateful that FSM high-ups are at least listening, and it goes to show that they value comments both for and against FSM practices and publishing habits. But frankly, the online gallery is great, but it’s not enough. What I’m really griping about is what actually goes to PRINT. When we see at least ONE pic, or (GASP) review, then I will be a man of my word, and buy at least two copies.
So, yes, I’m happy. For now. Baby steps. Phase I complete. On to phase II !
I’m really encouraged by this. It would’ve been nicer to see something in print. Here’s hoping someone at FSM got a chance to visit the amazing WOnderfest we had this year!
while in attendance at the best of the west contest in las vegas i had the pleasure of meeting matt usher.he graciously listened to my opinions regarding the lack of sci fi coverage in FSM.whether that made a difference or not it is great to see some sci fi coverage.he photographed two of my entries. one of which, the tie fighter, appears in the on line gallery thismonth.i look forward to seeing him at the IPMS/USA nationals in phoenix,az in august so i can thank him. i’ll expect to see all you sci fi modelers, within a reasonable distance from phoenix , entered in the show.Rich Sternbach(STAR TREK) will be presenting a seminar on real space researching and detailing. i will be presenting a seminar on starship detailing as well.please come by and say hello.for more info go to www.ipmsusa.org, see you there!
