You’re missing the barrel end on the carbine. Other than that, looks pretty good. Gt out the nomex and kevlar, though, you’re likely to get some flak and flames on painting this character.
I was just going to ask what weapon he is holding, Alfie figured it out.
Far as flak & flames could you post contact information to get one for myself? The detail looks crisp and the medallion is a cool addition, besides I do not have the tee shirt so may as well have the figure.[H]
Interesting how both sides in most Central American conflicts & civil wars are armed with ‘Made in USA’ hardware.
I think mine will sport a scratch built pump action shotgun.
Ajla -The barrel was a very weak point on the kit ,I bent it twice then took it right off. Its in storage , I did’nt mention I’m not finished yet.I may replace it with s/s tubing.
Sfire-The kit is shown ,from Pegaso ,white metal,1/35 scale new and cheap off ebay.

Scity -Thank you ,keep lookin’ I 'm working on this one steady. Here is todays progress. More oil wash’s on the uniform and some yellow on the ‘pineapple’. Also a lot of work on the gun stock and sling. With some work as well on the flesh parts.
I am callin’ the base done ,however, I cant see any way to make it look any better ,this is a very detailed kit and thin washes bring out the best ,especially in the face.
A little more work on this guy.Installed the rifle barrel and continued with work on the watch,flesh , pineapple ,rifle and sling. Also a dark brown wash on the fatigues to get it lookin’ a little more realistic.

I am havin’ trouble with the eyes on this model.The detail is astounding in this kit ,one of Pegaso’s GoldBox series. I cant get the ‘look’ I want in the eyes and brows.I will try to get the detail in and use a pencil on the brows.Comments and suggestions welcome.
*Easy eyes
Try using white wax crayon or the type used for marking tarps or fabric, then ‘trim’ to size with a toothpick. It worked really well for my first attempt at ‘white’ parts of eyes.
Pencil crayons will only work on a flat base as gloss is too smooth to ‘grip’ the pigment. After all this I add skin ‘shine’ by adding natural skin oils from my forehead with a small brush. This works well for shine on leather also.
I am not a E-bay shopper and was wondering if you had a direct link to Pegaso models. I searched and only came up with distributors that did not have a Che’ in stock.

You are talking about a Stabilo Pencil for marking smooth surfaces, I have those so I will investigate. I meant a lead pencil for the eyebrows ,I’m kinda leery of using a wax on the model, but will tr5y it.
The unit I used is a PHANO China Marker #92 White / Blanc
It looks like a fat pencil crayon but is wrapped in paper instead of wood. My girl friend brought it home from work where it was used for marking tarps.
Sharpen the tip and like said above it can be ‘trimmed’ down with a sharp toothpick. Do not reuse the toothpick end without removing the wax, I sanded between trimming to avoid reapplying the wax pigment.
Sfire -A Stabilo is a step up from the marker you describe. Keep an eye out and try find one of those. No stupid pun intended…!
Last details-I’ll sleep on it and see what the boys say at the model meeting tomorrow.
The model meet went ok one small item pointed out and I agreed ,the red star on the beret is a little vaguely defined,it needs removing and replacing with a p/e or other. Other than that he is done and will be in the contests in this area in 2011. Thanks for the people willing to comment and views.
