Fruil question

I am just about ready to build my Fruil tracks for my Tiger early. Is it a good idea to leave the tank’s drive sprocket off until I am ready to attach the tracks or doesn’t it matter??

i put every thing on and then wrap the tracks around the sprocket. Takes some finess but it works

As long as you can rotate the sprocket it shouldn’t make any difference Jason.

I glue it all up and slip the tracks right over the sprocket, pinning up the last links underneath. Sometimes fenders and dust guards can cause a little problem but it is definitely not necessary to have the sprocket rotate. I have Fruils on at least 10 models and have had no issues using this method.

Thanks guys. My first Fruil experience and I want it to go smoothly. Wouldn’t want anything keeping me from spending another $30 on another set!!

Jason-

Are you using my shortcut method???

the pins instead of the wire? Already purchased!! Any other hints are welcomed

You can use string or a long piece of thin wire to fish the tracks through when fender/skirt clearance is an issue or if you have large fingers.

My suggestion of having the sprockets being able to rotate is a suggestion that works well for me, not a requirement for installation of friul tracks. Feel free to use whatever method works best for you, I’ve only installed two sets of Friul tracks. Semper Fi, mike

i had all the wheels on inc sprockets but not glued and they fit fine, even with PE mud guards and fenders ie one slip and they’ll ping of!!
