I just have one question about this one… on the starboard side, the two prop circles look like they’re overlapping. I don’t know if this is just the angle of the photo - or if the circles really do overlap. Are your prop circles made to the same diameter as the props themselves ?

the prop circles were cut by laying the props into a circle template 2 get the rite size…
i was wondering whether the props did overlap on the real thing…
they r staggered front to back, so they wouldn’t touch if there was an overlap…

Your 17 is looking good. I am anxious to see the finished results. I did some checking through my reference material as to the question of prop overlap. I knew the two inboard engines are mounted slightly further forward than #1 and #4, but I didn’t know about the side to side overlap. I couldn’t find any photos that were taken directly from the front, but I did find several 3 view diagrams. Each of the diagrams showed overlap on the front views, but no overlap on the overhead views! Go figure. I have some video I took a few years ago of the EAA B-17G “Aluminum Overcast”, part of which was shot from directly in front. I will have to dig that out and see if the prop discs are discernible. the BMF masks were removed. [xx(]
those styrene strips r really tiny, .010 x .020, smallest size i could work with,
& they still look a bit oversize 2 me…
i will try 2 clean the frames up, maybe a flick or 2 of the sharp toothpick
mite work.

u r not mistaken, nor r u nit-picking…
the B-17G does have a chin turret, & mine will eventually have one installed.
i finished correcting the shape of the dorsal canopy so it would fit flush 2 the
fuselage, now i’m working on the shape of the top turret.
after that, i’ll work on the chin turret, then proceed 2 the tail turret
& finish up w/ the ball turret, unless i decide 2 use that part of the model
as a mounting point 4 the in-flite diorama i’m trying 2 build eventually…
did i mention i usually build really slowly ? [;)][:D]
