frosty's desert abrams (the pix)

Looks good, Frosty [tup]

Clean, crisp - Nice job

Looks great Frosty, one ? tho.
Where’s the grips for the .50 BMG?

GR8 wrk Frosty. Good 2 C some of ur wrk again. (need to work on my frostyspeak!) Will Be another great addition to your collection.

very good frosty!!! I should probably do the last steps on mine to finish it…[:D]

Now that’s looking really good, Frosty. Some weathering wash and dusting up will really give it more life. As I have always said…the Abrams really looks good in desert scheme.

Don’t you think so,too?

Looks good, I’m impressed!

Frosty,
nice work!
looks like your photos are coming out much better too.
new camera, or just more practice?

good looking Abrams

Nice clean build frosty. I can’t wait to see it weathered a bit…

Lookin really good, Frosty. Just a dab of weathering and rounds will be “on the way”!

Looks good frosty. Keep up the good work.

hey folks!
i was feeling kinda down 4 about this project,
then when i read all ur kind words,
i immediately started feeling better…[:D]

my Abrams GB project was originally supposed 2 have been the Revell M1A1HA in 1/72, w/ aftermarket Eduard p/e & an airbrushed3 color NATO camo,
so i kinda felt like i’d let the side down w/ a relatively easy project this time.
but i was short on time & too burned out after my M32 conversion 2 want 2
attempt the original plan at that point. having never done any p/e before, i
didn’t want 2 feel like i had 2 rush 2 get it done by the deadline.
as it is, i’m tardy anyway, but i’d still b down on the floor looking 4 lost parts if i’d
done the Revell kit & p/e… i’ll do that project some other time, i guess.
still 2 come: looking 4 brown ink 2 do ink/alcohol wash, then either airbrush
thinned Buff & Dust paint or do chalk pastel weathering…
is cleaning an airbrush as much of a pain as i think it’s going 2 b ? [xx(]

Jon, Bill, Monrad, Ryan, Roy, Rich, Joe, Thundergod, Lizardquing, Phroosh,
Robert, erush, Keyworth, Tige, South Aussie, Build22, KennethG, allan, philp & mjohnson :
most sincere thanx 2 u all 4 ur comments ! [:D][:D][:D]
Derek: [:I][:I][:I] omigosh… either they weren’t there in the first place or i cut them off thinking it was flash…looks like it’s time 4 references & scratchbuilding !
Peter: gd frostyspeak, u rule ![tup]
M1AbramsRules: hey, u did finish at least one, the ‘splintered barney’ !
as 4 me, can i display the cool GB badge now ? or should i get 'er dirty first ?
Buriain-sama: indeed it has been awhile…nice 2 c u !
DDT: i agree, the desert scheme does look great, & it was so much easier 2 do, just tamiya sand straight from the rattle can… now that i’ve done the winterized & desert camo, i’ll have 2 try NATO 3-color next time !
Major G.: i did a bunch of work on this one based on ur article on improving the Italeri M1, (like grooving the double wide road wheels & drilling
out the lightening holes in the drive sprockets)… glad u like it & thanx !
wildwilliam: same digicam, i’m trying hard 2 take good pix,
learning more as i go…
ausf: no backing up in this one, mom would kill me if i dented HER ride! LOL [;)] [:D]
renarts: summer so far is going well, looking forward 2 sleeping a bit l8r
in the AM… i’m thinking about display options, got some good ‘road 2 baghdad’
newspaper pix collected 4 dio ideas but they’re all m1a1 or a2s from OIF & this
model is only good 4 Desert Shield timeframe… maybe just another simple
‘patch of sand & rock’ bit of groundwork, but i mite try 2 sculpt a palm tree 4 vertical effect.
i’d love 2 see what u’d do w/ modern armor, given ur skill w/ everything else !

gosh, i’m yappin’ a lot today ! LOL…
thanx again, everybody !
