for an issue or two or three…FSM mag “featured” some pretty cool excerpts from the forum and i for one rather enjoyed them…
what happened ?[:(]
why were they discontinued ?
did i miss something ???
I really miss that feature too.
That feature always seemed a little redundant to me…
Why buy or subscribe to the magazine when they are just filling up space with content you can get for free on the web?? Most of us here that frequent the forums aren’t really going to see any new forum topics in the magazine anyways.
Maybe FSM ran the feature for a few months to drum up support for the website – that’s my thinking. Overall, I’d rather see those pages dedicated to some other more useful content, like techniques, featured builds, workbench reviews, photo gallery, etc etc…
‘From the Forum’ was Lawrence Hansen’s column, and he left the staff several month ago to pursue another opportunity here at Kalmbach. He’s now a Senior Editor in our book-publishing department.

while perusing older issues of FSM…“Scale Talk” seems to be a regular feature and feedback from your readership seems to be as encouraged as it is applauded…
i 'spect someone’ll argue feedback from the Forum is self evident…
however !!!
…many of the ideas…posted builds…insights…techniques and debate remain on the Forum and as i’ve previously expressed, seeing them in the mag really creates another dimension for not only me but, others who might not be as forunate to have the luxury of having access to the electronic medium…
like the T-shirt idea…“From the Forum” is another scheme that really whets my appetite…
c’mon…bat it around in your morning meetings…y’all do such a great job, why not make it a regular feature like “Scale Talk” ?
Yeah i liked the From The Forum section in the magazine, i thought it was cool to see some familiar user names…
Yes, I liked the “From the Forum” articles too. Not everyone has a computer, and the article, I felt, reached out to those.

Give one more vote in favor of keeping / bringing back the “From the Forum” column. Not only do so many people offer a better chance of anwering a particular question, showcasing them for those of us who don’t have a computer is a very good idea.
Besides, the only thing cooler that seeing a few familier names is seeing yours! [:D][8-]
I got a kick out of seeing one of my forum replies in that column. My daughter said it made me famous (lol).
