HI FOLKS I recently got my paws on a Frog westland Wyvern. I know this is a collectors item but i am going to build it. What i would like to know is have any of you guys and gals built one and am i likely to have any problems with it. ie parts fit. And is it reasonably acurate? i have no 1/72 drawings for this one THANKS IN ADVANCE…Gregers[;)]
Gregers,
I’ve had that kit, started it but my attention span is short so I eventually left it collect dust and it ended up, years later in the bin… All I remember is that I spend a lot of time re-working the exhaust… I do not have any scale drawings, but I do have the Nov 1991 issue of Scale Aircraft Modelling where the plane is reviewed in detail with detail pics (b&w only), and the usual many side views (plus a few top and bottom wings views) for colours. That, I could easily copy and send to you by post.

Hi Gregers,
I bought the kit when it was brand new back in the early seventies. As I remember it, the kit had major fit problems in the wing/fuselage join; a spartan cockpit (remember, this was in the day when if you wanted detail, you pretty much did it yourself); along with the aforementioned exhaust shape. With work it can be a way cool model. SAMI did a Richard Corruna section three or four issues ago, definitely a reference starting point. Almost forgot…the decals in the kit were very poor, I ended up buying some from a company long gone. Wish someone would do this aircraft…I think it is very unique!!!
Hi folks Dj thanks for the offer much appreciated if i cant get a back issue i will take you up on it. is it ok to email you if i can’t get one? elfkin thanks for the info i certainly do remember those interiors (or lack of them) i recently finished the novo skua and built my own interior for it went and bought the revell skua whilst half way through it only to discover they hadn’t improved it…AAAAAGH. at least i got 2 sets of markings though. It looks like i have my work cut out for me with that wyvern though. well its in the queue for building behind 5 lancs 1 rotodyne and a few others…CHEERS Gregers [8D]
