Hi all,
I finished my first large scale figure kit last year and thought I would post a few pics.
This is the smaller Toy Biz kit that comes with him hanging on some slime coated brick wall.
Since I didn’t like the look of the wall and everyone else does it that way, I just had to be different[:)][:)].
Wanted to be able to hang him on the wall (he is Spiderman afterall) so found a frame and here you have it.
The fit wasn’t too bad[;)] but did require a bit of putty.
Best thing about him was no flesh to paint [swg].

I should have my PL Spidey finished fairly soon. I am doing my “Eyes” in silver though.
Also thinking of redoing the Web he is shooting.

so is spider man going to use the web to snag the fence post or tree branch??? lol the reflection makes it look weird but excellent work. love how u did the webbing on the costume. GJ

Jordan, good eye. I need to take him downtown and get a reflection from one of the buildings.
Casey, watch out for the webbing. They didn’t mold it on all of the pieces (one boot have has it and the other doesn’t, etc). I picked up a marker with an ink that didn’t run when I spayed the dull coat over it (bad experience with a permanent marker and a Hawk missle, don’t ask) and just drew in where I thought the web should go.
The background was the best part. How do you find a mirror that looks like a reflective window in 1/10th scale. A mirror was just too thick (looked like he was floating above the glass). Finally found a party food tray at Party City and cut it to fit. You can’t tell it too much from the pics but the windows form a triangle from the frame to add to the 3D look. Still not all that happy with how that turned out. May just redo it with a flat piece in the frame.
The Toy Biz kits take a little more work but you can pick them up fairly cheap and with a little patience (and a lot of putty) they can turn out pretty good.

Nice job. I actually entered my PL Spider-Man in a model contest and won 3rd place (out of 3 entries). I recently found the Toy Biz Rhino and a Spider-Man vs. Venom kits and won the PL Hulk at the above contest raffle. I like doing the comic book figures. Some day I may actually finish the Andrea Miniatures Arachnid figure.

You might want to try to pick-up Horizon’s 1/6th scale Spider-man. IF you can find one. The one with him crouching down. It is an excellent kit. You might find one on ebay.

I’ve got both Horizon Spider-Man kits, the original red & blue one and the one you mention. I’ve even got the Horizon resin web base for the crouching Spider-Man. I just had to buy the Polar Lights one. The original Aurora one was one of the first kits I built on my own. I’ve been a big Spidey fan since I was a kid.

I didn’t know Horizon made a web base. This is news to me. I’ll have to see if there is anything I can find out about it. Sure miss Horizon. Would have liked to see more kits come out from them. Thank goodness GeoMetric as risen from the grave.
