Here’s some of my latest models- 1/48 scale, hasegawa, fw190 A-4 and 109F-2. the 190 is a JG 54 green heartz and the 109 is flow by Jurgen Harder, with his brothers name “Harro” on the aircraft, who died in the BoB i believe. I started out using peddinghause decals on the 190 but they were a disaster…I wont even go there, but i managed to find some spares i had. they are my very first luftwaffe birds so hope you enjoy.

I’m particularlly interested on the winter-camo on the Fw 190… Did it’s excellent appearance mostly stem from from pre-shading, post-shading, and was it paint, or pastels, or a mix?
im a beginer in model planes i have afew questions they are pretty basic how do you get the shading in between panels?and how do you weather planes?

Thanks for all the comments guys. Hammer- the winter camo was done first by spraying on the eastern front green camo, then applying the decals. then i sprayed flat white around the decals, and getting some slight overspray on them. I studied my reference pics while doing this to get it right. i didnt’ cover completely with the white so some greens and rlm 76 still shows through. I then used fine sandpaper and scuffed up the white over raised areas to reveal the greens. for the panel lines i started with a promodeller dirt wash, and let some of it soak into the white leaving it looking dirty and worn away. I studied my reference pics and looked to see which panel lines really stood out, such as the cowling panel joints, and the tail and rudder, so i post-shaded those areas with tamiya smoke- which i find is perfect for post shading. its like a clear gloss with a little black/brown tint. I’m still learning post shading so i hope the effect isn’t too fakeish…then everything was flat coated. without a good reference pic i wouldn’t have had a clue how to get an accurate white washed look

Thanks, Nate… Your efforts paid off, big time… I’m a post-shader m’self, especially on Luftwaffe Winter Camo, although my preferred medium is pastels and charcoal for both the panel lines and exhaust…
