I threw this together last night for an assignment in one of my classes, so it hasn’t been thouroughly tested, but it seems to be working correctly. I know it works on Win 2000 and XP, but I haven’t used it anywhere else yet.
Some notes about what’s in the zip file (BTW - you need an unzipping tool if don’t have one already - Many newer Windows systems have them built in)
there’s the scalar.exe file, this is the actual tool, and there’s a qt-mtedu320.dll file that’s required for the program to run so it just needs to be in the same directory as the scalar.exe.
I wrote this using an educational license so I can’t charge anything for it, but I would be interested to know how many people use it, so if you download it, just send me a quick email to let me know. If you have any questions, find any errors, or have any trouble trying to run it, let me know that as well.
jimz66 - Mac.s should actually have the JVM installed already, MS has a feud with Sun, so most Win users have to download it. It’s a free download from http://java.sun.com that allows you to run Java-based programs.
Woody - I can add 1/1000 scale, I’ll email an updated .exe to you this afternoon.
Quagmyre - I wrote it in C++ using QT (www.trolltech.com) for the GUI elements.
BTW - I’m primarily an armor modeller which is why 1/35th is the default scale, if anyone wants me to set something else as default let me know. It might make it a little more convenient to use. I’ll create a new post for this.
