I ran into some fellas at Hob Lob durring THE sale. They told me about a model club over in Little Rock… Well I went this sat and had a great time. After the meeting we headed over to Jacksonville to a hobby shop I had not been tool… I was amazed. There on the shelves was all kinds of Aftermarket and tons of cool armour kits. I bought Dragons Late Hetzer, JS2M, and ordered a Tamiya Sturmtiger… They carry about 25 brands of paints including the new fangled…vallejo sp? Hundreds of books and magazines. Its a little far to just “run over” about 160 miles round trip but I finnaly found me a home in the model club so that will give me reason to drive a little farther and see whats new in the shop.
I too, have found a great hobby shop but thank goodness, mine is local! I found it last week while driving through a strip mall I hadn’t been to in years. The owner was very friendly and noticed I was perusing the armor aisle and began to tell me of his plans for expanding into more aftermarket parts and kits, as well as paints and supplies. I was amazed at the assortment that I had seen already…and of course , I spent much more than I should have. But I look at it this way, the money I would have spent for other habits gets spent on something worthwhile…my favorite hobby!
Holy Hand Grenade – eighty miles away!!! Just open yer own shop and pay the rent with the money you save on gasoline! [:p]
I know a real life shop (which used to be disparagingly referred to as “brick and mortar” in the internet 90’s) can’t be beat for a fun visit, though. I still remember going to Beatties in London in the 90’s and being blown away. I haven’t been back in years, and don’t even know if it’s still there, but I’d be tempted to fly across the ocean just to see that shop again. [:)]
And hey, why not give a shout out to that store, as the kids these days would put it? You know, um, the … name? [:p]
Not as bad as mine it about 200 rd trip and isnt even worth it lol.
Larry_dunn, Oh it was great… Old and musty… There were fellas standing around talking about their latest project… Very nice atmosphere…
Those places are totally unbeatable. Even better when they have tons of dusty build-ups in them.
Ken, Does that hobby shop have a website?
mark956
nope… just a telly
Great find Kenneth !!!
About the same mileage I have to burn off going to Clagary and back when I go on a supply run.
WOW…just by reading these posts I consider myself very lucky!
