Forum members help needed with ID a kit maker

Actually, I was wondering if we could make this a sticky.

My thought was this:

Lots of kit makers re-box other makers models, or have sub-companies (Dragon, for instance is also DML) that may be foreign to us. So, could we make a sticky where we list kit makers and their known clones, and perhaps when a kit is a re-box of someone else’s mould.

For example:

Zvedya StuG III Ausf F is the old Dragon one.

Ditto with the BTR-70 (Zvedya/Dragon)

This way we could have a continually updated list new folks could refer to to find out who really makes the kit their about to dump hard earned $$$ into.

why not try to do the research and make a webpage on it for a more wider audience? Might be better fitting if you did that!

The old Ampersand “Modeler’s Guide to the 1/35 Universe” tried to list everything 1/35th and covered many of the re-boxes. You might try to get one of those as a first source of info. Frankly, it’s easier to ask a question about: “Hey, is the Revell 1/35 Stug III F a rebox?”

However, if you want to assemble that kinda info, it’d be welcome.

BTW, the Zvesda StuG IIIF is a BAD rebox of the Dragon one. It isn’t the exact kit…
