I was just looking at some armor books, and I realised that all of those designs are very important historically, and I have never seen a model of them in my life.

-Ben.

huh, very interesting. I would also like to see an American WWII 37mm AT gun.

Very interesting indeed

soviet ZIS-2 AT gun and a 1/35th SU-76 aside from the maquette one that is impossible to find.

Monogram did one in the late 50s, early 60s with a Willys Jeep. Gets reissued every so often, the last time in the 90s.

How about the backbone of US armor forces in the late 50s and into the 60s? The M60, aka “Slick 60”, equipped our European forces while the M48A3 battled the VC in Vietnam.

They even remained in Army National Guard service into the 1980s. Only Tamiya made a 1/48 scale one a long time ago and resin turrets (or a lot of putty & reshaping of the M48 turret) will produce a Slick 60.

I’d like to see some prototypes, like the MBT70/XM803 or the HIMAG from the 70s. And the M-103 is sorely lacking as well as the M-114 Cavalry Scout vehicle. BTW - my restoration project is a round-turret “Slick-60,” so I can help out anyone wanting photos of a real one.

I’ve got some photos of the restored MBT70 from Aberdeen and the XM803 from Ft. Knox in my museum gallery: http://photos.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/12987

The M103 heavy tank would be a great kit to have in plastic. I hear horror stories about the two in resin. It would be easy enough to do all variants in one box.

What about decent affordable models of the Char B1 or any of the other unkitted resin excluded) french tanks of early WW2. The Comet, Conqueror, Challenger (WW2), British Cruisers (A9, A10, A13) and the various Swedish Stridsvagn and Landsverk of WW2. http://www.tankhistory.com/

I’m with MBT70 and Major Rob on the MBT70, XM803, and M103.

Ben, as for your looooong list, sorry, nothing there really interests me!
All historically important vehicles, for sure, but nothing I’d want to build.
To each his own, eh?

The Char 2C Heavy Tank.
French
Crew: 12-13
Armament: One 75mm gun Four 8mm machine guns

Performance: 8mph , Range 100miles, vertical object 4feet, trench 13’6", gradient 50%
The first prototype was completed in 1917. They were still operationall in 1939 when the war started in Europe. First tank to have two turrets. Only 10 were built because of the end of WWI.

i want a Challenger A30
Comet
Archer
Stag
DD Sherman
M3 halftrack
and some Armoured cars like the AECs

Box Stock, there was a fairly decent resin model of the Char 2C released a long time ago, by the now defunct French company ITA. Im sure you can still find it somewhere.

Some even more obvious candidates:

The AMX-13, the post-war French light tank that has probably seen as much action as the T-55. Used all over the world by countless countries. The Israelis liked them and used them a lot as MBTs until they were outclassed by the T-55. (Well, it is a light tank, after all). They then used the vehicle for scouting. Certainly a much more important vehicle than such German oddballs as the Sturmtiger and Tiger P!

The venerable Centurion. No good modern kit of it, only the old Tamiya kit and some very expensive resins. Especially the Sho’t, the Israeli Centurion, which fought in and won the largest tank battles in history.

The T-10M, a follow-up to the IS-III series, superficially similar but with some fundamental differences. An important post-war Soviet heavy tank.

The AMX range was done, though not the best kits by Heller (sorry for swearing)

AMX-13/75
AMX-13/75 with SS-11
AMX-13/155
AMX-13 VCI
AMX-13 VTA
AMX-13 VTB
AMX-13 DCA
AMX-13/105

Couldn’t agree more about the centurion though

How about the Stryker?

True, but I’d rate Heller even below old Tamiya.

Even their newer stuff is poor, the Leclerc is a dog but how much is the tamiya kit going to cost? and as for their Leopard/Gepard least said soonest mended.

About $35 USD here in Japan, which is only a bit more than what the vastly inferior Heller Leclerc sells for here. Or should I say “used to sell for,” since they sure won’t be selling any more now! [;)]

Here’s another pic of the Skeleton tank that I took from Ordnance Museum at A.P.G that has been restored.

Howdy! It took me awhile to remember where I saw this. I think there’s a conversion in my future. I think this would be a great kit. The “Skink”
