How big is it approximately? (width/length dimensions in cm or in).
This is the old late-70s/early-80s toy I’m talking about, the one that’s
the same scale as the figures.
I’m asking this because I’ve just bought one on Ebay (intending to repaint + superdetail
it as a model), and have a feeling that it was a rather bad idea considering that I’m running out of model display/storage space - I couldn’t resist buying it as it was such a bargain at £3.50 (listed in the wrong
category I think; usually ones in reasonable condition go for £15-20 or more) but from what I can
remember of it as a kid (I never actually had one, but remember seeing them for sale!) it’s absolutely huge.
At the worst, I suppose, I can just sell it on again on Ebay!
I have personally owned both the original, may it reast in peice, and I currenly have one of the new releases (actually it’s my nephews but it’s at my house!lol) and I can say that theyare both exactly the same size. The new falcon is a modified mold of the old one. they moved the battery compartment and added some lights. They also added small holes where the new buttons are located. There are some differnent interior features as far as gimmics/accessories but they essentially the same structurally and in appearance.
Gotta agree, if it is an original is worht more as is. Also hatewall brings up another good point that the scale proportions are way off . Even if you kept it button up. Unless you just want to super detail toy, which I myself have done on occasion, there is no reason to change it. The newr falcon does have “weathering” painted on. This weathering trend has seemed to have gotten quite popular in the toy industry.
