Yeah, so do I. So I probably will not spend the money for the new edition. There are a few British detailing kits, but the cost of that stuff is high. I intend to do a lot of scratch work. I have bought a few aftermarket items like AA guns. There is an aftermarket main gun but again very pricey. But the kit main gun is really not that great. Still, I found a book on those ships with detailed drawings of the main gun, so I hope I can scratch that part.

I , like DON have the older one .I did mention in a post that she was now R.C.d . This meant , to keep the neat looking detail , I would do a lot of scratch building
She floats at the proper waterline after ballasting and power tests .I added much in the way of waterproofing stuff , but , the detail is what slowed me down .It has been replaced with BRASS or EVERGREEN products
I always thought this kit was nice , with the upgrade kit , I am sure she would be nicer . The price now , that puts this kit like others , way outside my modeling budget . There is a gun available , and one of my clients found out I was doing her , so he sent me one for this old mans 69th birthday .
I believe he got the weapon from J.R.HAYNES out of the U.K. .Darned fine product . Sorry to say , darned fine price too . The one thing I would recommend if you can . Go visit the H.M.C.S. SNOWBERRY , it’s an educational and interesting experience .
