Fokker DVIII Cockpit help needed.

Hi All.
This Is my first post to this forum, I regularly read the finescale magazine…A great read.

I have just obtained the Dragon 1/48 Fokker DVIII including the Hans Goerth resin Bust. I’ve looked over the kit, a very pretty aircraft and the bust is a first class set of resin castings.

Can anyone help me with a web link to cockpit pictures of a DVIII or a good model of a DVIII? I’ve done some googling but have come up empty handed. I want to add some scratchbuild extra detail and the kits cockpit seems rather bare. Knowing Fokker this may actually be very accurate[:)]

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The pic might help, if not e-mail those people and ask for more!

Check, if you can, FSM November '89 issue; there’s a nice piece about converting a Dr.I into the DVIII and it shows nice drawings of the ‘cockpit’.

Thanks for that, Those Ultralite replicas tend to have an array of modern instruments. The Dragon model includes a bare rectangle of flat featureless styrene for the instrument panel. No raised or scribed detail, no decal and no drawings of what the origional looked like. I’ll probably need to attack a library and photocopy a drawing or pic. Its frustrating because I can’t find anything on the web. Fokker tended to think instruments were just extra weight and a distraction to the pilot but I can’t believe there were absolutely none!
