Hi all. Another weekend come and gone with more progress on my D-VI conversion. O did some shading during the clear flat applications and finished up the strut installation. Still some rigging and the prop to add but I just might finish in time for San Antonio!! Comments welcome

Really quite nice. The “only” recommendation I would say is that the cowl looks a bit bland. The funny thing is, I have no idea what you would do to take care of this. Maybe it just looks a bit empty missing the prop.
In any case, really nice job, especially on the lozenge camo. Get’s me itchin’ to do some more on my SSW R.VIII… but I need to finish hand painting it first. Uh. Just remember, if the only nitpick I have is the cowl on yours, there’s not a whole lot of bad things to say about your model. Very nice work.
I agree completely with your comments on the cowl. It’s metal though and once I hit it with a bt of dry brushing it should fix the issue. It’s always amazing to me how a bit of chrome dry brushing along the edges of the panels makes such a difference. Your bomber build is still got me itching to try one of the bombers I’ve got on the shelf but I think I’m lozenged out for a while.
Great build Donald. the lozenge is top notch
Donald- I think your idea on the “metalizing” of the cowl and such will really make that area pop. A bit on the struts, cowl, and other metal bits will really dress those areas up. Also, the wash on the engine cylinders appears to stop halfway around the cylinder, evident in the first photo. Can’t quite tell from the last pic, but the pad immediately behind the guns, is the paint covering the starboard side? Can’t quite tell if it’s glare from the flash or if the paint is a bit thin there. Otherwise, looking very good!
Looking Neato Donald. Alomost finished. I noticed the thin looking paint on the gun breach too.
I didnt realise that this had the radial and not the Mercedes.
