Hey guys, I haven’t showed you any pictures of my recent work.
Short history: I have been modeling since I was a kid, and I feel I have mastered, building the model, including sanding , and fitting. I build these at the end of December without the use of an airbrush. I am currently working on a b-17 with my new Anthem 155. (I will post pics soon). Just thought I’d share.
Now I am working on weathering and am geting better very slowly. These pictures done show any weathering as I was not doing it them. The b-17 will be weathered.
Nothing compared to what I have seen you guys do. I owe a lot of the work on my B-17 to you guys. Thanks!!!
Holy Moly!!
You live in Medford? I was born in Eugene, went to junior high in Talent and graduated from Phoenix High School - my mom lives in Medford and Grandma and grandpa live in Jacksonville, and my sister in law and her husband own a restaurant in Ashland!!
Small world, mate!!
I love the Rogue Valley - The View from Roxy, skiing in Ashland (my sister used to work for the Shakespearean Festival), swimming in the Applegate…it’s a great place.
And thanks for posting the pics of your planes here. They’re very good for not having used an airbrush.
Do yourself a favor - waste some paint by practicing - practice and experiment with thinner/paint ratios, pre-shading, and cammo…then, using Future as a barrier, use oils to wash darker colors into panel lines. There’s heaps of info here on this forum.
If you have any questions, just ask.
Thanks guys. The b-17 is coming along great. I will take some pics as soon as I have the masking tape off. I’ ve been practicing and am getting the hang of the airbrush. I have some exhaust stains on the engines that turned our pretty good. I am just trying to figure out how to weather the rest of a silver plane. No paint chipping.
leemitcheltree-- I graduated from Phoenix High School too. Class o’ '95.
