Just finished this model this morning, it is the Hasegawa 1/32 scale Fw 190A-8 built as the A-9 version which was the final development of the short nosed Fw 190 fighters.
This a/c Wrk.N 980542 was built by Norddeutsche Dornier at Wismar and may have been one of the final a/c built before production stopped in Feb. 1945.
German camo is usually a pin, and your pattern looks more painful than most. Bravo[tup][tup]. I like the rest of the weathering. Well worn and used without going over the top with it.
Thank you Rick, mkhoot, MartinJK, TJ ace, Dan, and Andy!
This was a fun kit to build, the only area that was trouble was the construction of the engine cowl. It needed some sanding and carving to get a good fit, the rest of the model was nearly perfect and went together very well.
Looks great! It also looks like modeling isn’t the only thing you are good at, those are some beautiful pictures. I also like the old picture effect, it looks like the real deal.
illusion,
It has taken a lot of practice to be able to photograph my models like I want to but lately they are turning out to my liking, pictures taken last year were not very good and are almost funny when I look at them now.
I always like to remove the color from some of my pictures and compare them to the pictures that are in my reference books, it is a good way to check my painting and weathering and see how I can improve future models.
Love the FW - inspirational. The photos are superb. The images in colour are very realistic and those in monotone with the vignetting and dust are so “period” people will save them as references for their model!!
