Florida Models Shops

As promised I am taking my family to Florida, Disney et al, for two weeks, can any of our american friends tell me of any good model shops in the Kissimee area, so my holiday will not be a complete cold turkey withdrawal from modelling.

Hey barrovian, great minds think alike! I’ll be in the Everglades with my older son all next week, and if he behaves I’ll even bring him back! [;)]

I was actually thinking of bringing a 1/72nd scale kit with me to build in the hotel room in the evenings while he’s asleep. I might bring the Type 90 from Pit Road/Trumpeter.

Sorry, I just realized this isn’t at all responsive to your message. [(-D]

Orlando area has a few descent ones. The best in the area is actually about 40m. west of Orlando, in Lakeland, called Marchet’s Toys and Hobbies. Haven’t been there in about 15 years, but it is still there. The owner, David Nickels, posts on Missing-Lynx from time to time. As a side note, it is in the shopping center that was used in the movie Edward Scissorhands, the one with all the funky colors and art deco shapes in the architecture, kind of neat to see.

I hear that the best in Orllando itself is Colonial Photo and Hobby in North Orlando, its on Colonial Drive which is just off of highway 50 and I-4 in the Osceola Square Mall.

Bobs Hobby Shop is pretty good too, don’t remember the address or directions.

Not model shops but here are a few must see’s if you can plan your trip to pass by them.
