Floats and Boats: Amphibious Aircraft Group Build

Alright !! I’ve got you down for a twofer. I can’t wait to get rolling on this.

BK

I began doing some hardcore planning on how to tackle all the mods I want/will do to my Kingfisher and at this point I am not sure I can complete the build in one year. YIKES !!!

So, I am going to add a second kit that I can get done for certain and also try to complete the Kingfisher. I just don’t want to rush the scratch and custom work on the Kingfisher. What I have planned for that kit has not been done before, to the best of my knowledge.

Hasegawa 1/48 Mitsubishi F1M2 Type Zero Seaplane Pete" Model 11

Here is something you don’t see everyday. Interesting.

Lots of floatplanes or flyingboat i have in the stash .

I’m in with something

Super cool. I’ve got you down.

BK

BK I can’t resist put me down for a italeri 1/72 Ju 52 with floats of course. John

I gotch TJ, you’re in my man.

BK

Wow, a Mistel !!!

Actually that is the Short Mayo Composite. British long distance mail carrier. Only one built. Short Maia on bottom aND Mercury on top

Oh my !!! My Hawegawa F1M2 Type zero showed up today. WHOOO HOOO!!! I took a looksee at the sprues through the plastic and this is one really nice kit.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am seriously ready to start this build.

BK

I am looking forwrad to this kicking off. My Do 24 is currently lined up to be my 4th build of the year. I was looking at some otehrstuff a few days ago and stumbeled across 2 PE sets for the kit, i had not realised there were any. So going to order them in Feb.

I have no business joining a group build due to my glacial pace, but what the heck we need a jet, so…

I obviously have extremely poor judgement in everything I do, including picking my models! This one is dedicated to Phil “Bondo” Brandt.

Hey G that’s cool! It would be sweet to put it on the water. Remember through GB doesn’t start until Jan 1.

Roger that Steve!

Heck, I should not even WANT to touch that thing!!! Aw darn it, I touched it already. [bnghead] But no assembly - the whole kit needs to be attacked with sandpaper before any fun starts. For those who do not know Mach Two kits - STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

This is going to be one scaaaaaary build.

And if there are any doubters of Mach Two’s infamous quality out there:

My review when I bought (yes bought) the kit. Is it that bad? No, it’s worse.

But that’s what modeling is all about, right? Torturing ourselves with inferior kits with abominable low quality?

Real G, gotcha down. That is a pretty cool looking boat. Glad to have you aboard.

BK

I know the feeling. I bought the Mach 2 B-45 even after i had read the reviews. But it fit perfectly into a larger project i have. Somtimes we just have to take the plunge.

Thanks BrandonK!

Bish, I wonder why people keep buying this guy’s stuff? I also bought (yes bought) the Ar-232 “Millipede” and Coleoptere. I won’t confess any more because no one can prove it!

I’d like to squeeze in with a 1/48 MPM Arado 196, please. Amazing what one finds in the stash when you start looking for a GB kit! Didn’t realize how many water bugs I have so there may be something else after the 196.

Some cool stuff in this, looks like a “boatload” of fun!!!

I have you on the roster. Welcome aboard.
