Was reading an article concerning the RAF Air Sea Rescue in WWII and had a hint of a possible “what if” build. Apparently they used Lysanders, and heres where the idea came from.

What about a Lysander on floats?

I have never come across any pics of such a set up, nor do I have a decent amount of reference materials concerning the Lysander.

Does anyone out there have any pics or references that have Lysander on floats, or know if anyone has thrown together one of these contraptions(“what if” Lysander)?

Any help or hints would be appreciated.

Is this the plane you are talking about ?

If so I have a book on them, but none of the photos of the plane have floats.

That would be the one, I haven’t found anything suggesting a float version either (from google’n). I think that gives me another project to put on the bench, I have a spare float thanks to a Kingfisher kit that I’ll be able to cast duplicates of. But of course I’ve got several projects already in progress, so it’ll fall somewhere after “next”.

I appreciate the offer, but no thanks. Since I am building a “what if” I can use generic references, plus its way back on the backburner as far as projects go. Time to start acquiring the materials, to include the kit.
