Hi guys ,this is what has been keeping me busy over the past month.
Tamiya’s classic Heinkel He 219 Uhu in 1/48 scale.
One of the most effective nightfighters of the Luftwaffe and one of the first operational aircraft equiped with ejector seats.
I loved this scheme the best and opted to have a soft edge to the black paint as seen in a few wartime pics of this aircraft. However I do not know if this is accurate for this particular aircraft.
Its built OOB except for a few photoetch aerials and antennas from Lion Roar .
And brass wire for the pitot.
Thanks for lookin[:)]
Ps:the last pic is Night Fighter meets Night Bomber[;)]
Very beautiful and clean paint job. Did you kinda’ cheat with a soft line of RLM76 between the black and over the mottled spots? Looks like it [;)] Was it a common practice by the luftwaffe Mechanics/Painters? Did you came to these conclusion from a photograph?
That’s really nice! What an amazing example of the growth of technology during the war- I’m reminded of Churchill’s " new Dark Age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science"…
Nice work. I have one in my stash, and I hope it comes out as well as yours. It’s refreshing to see planes with their pilots in… not de rigueur, but nice to see. Gives the planes some scale. [;)]
