Is there a difference between Dull coat laquer and clear matt varnish or are these the same product?

They are basically the same. One is a lacquer base, the other is a varnish base. Same effect though, no shiny models.
Anyone out there use Humbrol Matt Varnish, #49? I normally use Testor’s Dull-cote thinned about 50-50 with lacquer thinner. Someone, whose work I admire and wish to emulate, told me that he uses Humbrol Matt Varnish. I forgot what ratio of thinner to varnish he said he uses. Anyone out there had any experience with Humbrol? Even if you don’t use lacquer thinner, what ratio of thinner to varnish works for you?

[:D] hi ,i use humbrol,i have used the same dullcote but i dont thin it out,i use a brush and stait out of the can.is this any help to you?[:D]
I use MM Dullcote out of a rattle can. I give the model about two mist coats and have had very good results, and there is no clean up!!
