Hmmm… I don’t know about the FJ-2 but Combat Models put out an FJ-1 in the past.

I know Matchbox had a Fury several years ago, but I can’t remember if it was 1/48 or 1/32.

In any event, being old Matchbox, it may prove a challenge to find.

Uhm, the Matchbox offering was an FJ-1 in 1/48, and trust me, you don’t want it[V]. Everything about this plane is simply wrong, from a non-fitting (as in no way) canopy to horribly misformed parts and sink marks right on the forward fuselage. I just threw it away except for the decals, that may be useable some day. I think vacform is the way to go for an FJ-2 (contrail in 1/32 or 1/48 years ago??). Good luck.

FWIW, The old Matchbox Kit was 1/48 and an FJ-3. It might not be exactly what you want but the first XFJ-2 was really an F-86E with folding wings and 4 20mm cannon. An F-86 was kitted in 1/32 by Hasegawa. HTH

The XFJ-2 is the only Fury that is reasonably easy to make out of a Sabre. The production FJ-2 and FJ-3 are not only distinctly different from any USAF Sabre, even in dim light, they are also subtly different from each other. There were also two different XFJ-2 configurations - one was designated the XFJ-2B, and it was identical to an F-86E-10 except for paint and four 20MM cannons instead of six fifty caliber guns.

The other two were modified for demonstration of carrier suitability. These were also based on the F-86E-10. The landing gear was redesigned and an arresting hook, upper (tiny) and lower (big) barrier guards, a pitot boom on the left wing tip, a tail bumper and an extra fuel dump vent were added. The guns and gun ports were removed. The external fuel tanks were also a different configuration and the windscreen was modified to provide a little bit more forward and down visibility. Folding wings weren’t incorporated on these prototypes. There was also a bump on the lower side of the right wing near the tip, which I assumed housed a camera for photographing the landing gear and tail hook during launch and landing.

The best reference on all this is Steve Ginter’s Naval Fighters Number 10 on the FJ-2 Fury. Dorr’s F-86 Sabre book published by Motorbooks International has some detail on the Fury family as well.

The 1/32 Hasegawa F-86 is advertised as an F-40. Hannants has it in their catalog. I don’t know whether this Sabre variant or this kit has the 6-3 wing with or without slats - since they were basically E-10s, the XFJ-2s had the “narrow” slatted wing with a span of 37" 1".

Whoops[:I]. I checked the box (that was somehow still lying around after I tossed the plane) and the Matchbox kit I had was an FJ-4B, according to the instructions. The rest of my comments still apply though.
