[soapbox] We’ve all purchased kits, And when it comes to building them we end saying, Oh dear this does’nt fit or words to that effect, Now some were taken back with the release of concord by airfix, Now not all kits are perfect a few minor fit problems, But what if they could have been avoided to start with, Concords problem is that it was sub contracted to five companys, Each had a peice of the jig saw, And when it came together or dear it does’nt fit right, But they could’nt retool so in effect a flawed kit in my oppinion was released, And as badly fitting parts we all encounter them, Sometime’s it’s due to the age of the moulds or the parts taken from the moulds before they cooled enough, I realy like most airfix kits, I have few in my stash well quite a few , And intend to get a few more have to go need a cuppa.
You win some and you lose some. That kit sounds it is in the loser column .

I’ve seen the same problem with other kits, but usually Airfix is OK, not great, but OK. Haven’t tried the Concorde, so sorry to hearof it’s woes.

Well Joanna, if, of all the people YOU have difficulty with the fit of the concord pieces, then after seeing your mossies, there is no hope for the rest of us.
Hi Ya Dan!, You wont find me near that kit, Would’nt go with the mossies, And why waste money in the first place, Like buying a spice girls cd.
I made a start on the conc a couple of months ago.
I avoided the fit problems by assembling the fuselage sections ,then cutting off the
ridge of plastic and sanding it flush.
It took a little bit longer but - no filler needed!
Prior preparation prevents …!
BTW, just in case you were wondering, I put it away for a while due to its huge size
it seems that we have been spoiled by the shake and bake kits (Tami, Hase, Acc Min). a kit with bad or poorly fitting part(s) is just a challenge for your modelling skills. it is no reason to condemn the kit or manufacturer (sp?) of said kit. just have the mindset that it is a learning experience and profit from the knowledge that you gain. that is just my [2c]
Bad fitting kits are a good reminder to do more dry-fitting and planning on a build.
Well here’s my[2c] Concord does’nt have the charm , Lets say like a mosquito or spitfire and many others, I like jets but concord aint one of them, And as for a challange I’ve my vacform HP hastings for the group build, And was only pointing out , That most of the fit problems , Would have been found if the kit was designed and built in house, Like all good kits should be.
