First view of the 52

Before I close up the fuselage, I thought I’d take some pics of the interior of my JU-52 to show some detail before It’s lost forever. I purposely overstated the detail a little because some things will be visable thru various openings, and the windscreen, and I wanted it to stand out.

I hope I didn’t go to far. BTW… This is a really big model and a very nice kit. If you haven’t built one yet, I can recommend you do.

cheers,

Jerry

very nice job jerry. ive been wanting one of those.

Very nice. Looks like that took a while to paint. Can’t wait to see the rest of it.[8D]

great looking photos, man that looks so real.

Really nice job. Are you going to go with the “Where Eagles Dare” camo scheme? That movie is the main reason that I want to build one of these.

Fantastic!

Oh man!!! You hit it right on!!!.. That movie is the main reason I wanted to build this kit. I’ve always liked the look of the JU-52 in any camo scheme, but haven’t been able to find some decent sources for that winter/mountain camo. I don’t think I have the stones to wing It, even though I’ve seen the movie many times. Just way cool!

All I need now is a 1/48 school bus, scratch build a snow plow, and I’ve got the start of my first diorama. LOL. MMmmmmmm. maybe that’s not a bad idea after all. Let’s see…Richard Burton…Clint…OO YEAH!!! LOL

gotta go to work now,
Dragonfly

Man! Don’t hide that inside an airplane!

Dan

Looks good it’s a shame to hide that away I can’t wait to see the finished plane.

Great job on the pit. Hope the rest of the build goes as well.

Regards, Rick

Looks great! I can’t wait to see the finished build!

I have to agree. Is this it?

… or maybe this?

The only (real) winter schemes I have seen were quickly white-washed over a green background, working around the markings. “The Luftwaffe at War: 1939-45,” by A. Galland.

That being said, I have to get myself one of these, too. Nice job!

I also found a neat photo reference site, with a JU-52 walk-around. Be sure to click on the link at the bottom for other aircraft!

FITTER

Actually, Jerry, that 'pit looks pretty good.
Great definition of the details using the washes and drybrushing - very tidy.
Nice work - make sure you post more pics and you move along with the build.

Holy shit! best cockpit i’ve seen! BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks alot to Josh, aviator, Jeff, Matthew, Jeff, Dan, Mark, Rick, Fred, Fitter, Leetree, and radmax, your compliments are greatly appreciated.

fitter,
Thanks for the excellent camo photos. The sim skins are outstanding. I’m sure to get some inspiration from them. The first two ,as memory serves, appear to be the movie scheme, however I really like the third image with the gelb cowlings and tail. I don’t know… I just really like the looks of this airplane, and I think its quite handsome no matter what markings it’s wearing. I’ve definately got to do more research to come up a paint scheme. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no am decals available for the JU-52, so I’m limited to whats in the kit. I will post more when I’m a little farther along.

Thanks again to all,

Jerry

I have only one thing to say. WOW! [bow]

Excellent work, Jerry. Not overstated at all from the photos. It’s a shame to close that little masterpiece away. (But “you know it’s there”, right?)

Take care,

Mark

Great work so far. I am anxious to see more.

Darwin, O.F. [alien]

nice work. What kit is it?

Thanks to a6efan, Mark, Darwin, and tank.

Tank,

That’s the pro-modeler 1/48 JU-52/3m. Seems like a very nice kit so far.
