First timer with Klear

Guys

Can you point me in the right direction please. I’ve just used Klear through my airbrush for the first time to stop the silvering when I apply my decals and the coat of Klear is drying with almost a satin finish. Is this what happens or do I need to do more coats. I only ask this cause I used Klear while in the Army and it made my boots look like mirrors.

If you could give me some direction then I would very graetful.

Lenny, you need to apply a mist coat at about 15psi.

Let it dry for about 15 minutes half an hour, then spray on a wet coat.

This will even out over the mist coat to give you a glossy surface.

It takes a while to get the hang of it, I know it did me.

BTW, where did you get your Klear from as I can’t find it locally at the moment?

Karl

Good point about the air pressure, Lenny. I’ve had issues with paint coats, apparantly because I’m using too high a pressure in my airbrush, so I’ll be keeping my pressure lower in future.

Thank you gents I will have another go tonight. I did set my airbrush to 15 psi that I can remember. Karl, I had the same problem with finding Klear myself and I found some in Wilkinsons of all places. Hope they have some at your one.

Thanks again guys

Lenny, I have a couple of Wilkinsons close to where I work. I can feel a lunchtime expedition coming on when I get back from my week off.

Best of luck with the Klear.
